The 2018 NPF College Draft is Monday night at 7 p.m. central time and will be broadcast live on NPFTV, the exclusive digital platform.

The four-round, 23 pick Draft will begin with the Chicago Bandits, who traded Kaia Parnaby to the Aussie Spirit in January and received the first overall pick in return. The rest of the draft is positioned how teams finished during the 2017 regular season.

As the draft quickly approaches here are some facts to keep in mind.

  • The players who are drafted must be seniors in college.
  • Chicago has five picks.
  • Beijing has four picks.
  • Cleveland has six picks.
  • The Pride has five picks.
  • Aussie Spirit has three picks.

BTP broke down each roster to figure out where there are holes and who might be able to fill them.

Chicago Bandits

The Bandits are loaded with infield talent as well as right-handed pitching. We wouldn’t be surprised if they took two or three outfielders, a left-handed pitcher and a catcher.

Players to watch for: Jessica Scroggins (Baylor), Paige Lowary (Oklahoma), Gwen Svekis (Oregon), Cortni Emanuel (Georgia) and Paige Murphy (Eastern Kentucky)

Who’s No. 1? We think the Bandits should take Scroggins with the No. 1 pick, they will end up with Lowary or possibly Paige Parker (Oklahoma) at No. 3 regardless.

Beijing Shougang Eagles

This is the first time the Shougang Eagles will be drafting. They currently have Nancy Bowling as the lone American on the Chinese roster. We think they will look to add American players in the infield, behind the plate and in the outfield.

Players to watch for: Paige Parker (Oklahoma), Taylor Van Zee (Washington), DJ Sanders (Oregon) and Ashley Walters (Texas A&M)

Cleveland Comets

The newly formed Comets have the smallest roster in the league right now. They need players all over the field and with six picks; we expect them to draft two or three infielders, two pitchers and an outfielder.

Players to watch for: Kaylee Carlson (Auburn), Tori Vidales (Texas A&M), Randi Rupp (Texas State), Jenna Lilley (Oregon), Aleah Craighton (Arizona), Holly Speers (Kent State) and Carlee Wallace (Baylor)

Aussie Spirit

The Spirit has an experienced lineup full of mid-major talent and Australian university talent. There are four pitchers currently on the roster and we think they are going to draft one more arm, an infielder and an outfielder.

Players to watch for: Vanessa Shippy (Oklahoma State), Allie Walljasper (LSU), Erika Piancastelli (McNeese) and Victoria Draper (Auburn)

USSSA Pride

Last but not least, the USSSA Pride has three picks in the Draft. They have a copious amount of pitching so look for the Pride to fill holes that will be left by international play like infield and outfield but could add another pitcher to the mix.

Players to watch for: Aleshia Ocasio (Florida), Kayli Kvistad (Florida), Nicole Pendley (Oklahoma), Jessie Warren (Florida State), Nicole DeWitt (Florida)
